San Mateo Medical Center is an acute care hospital, with an emergency room, psychiatric services and administrative offices. The hospital is licensed to operate 509 beds including a 64-bed medical/surgical unit, a 7-bed intensive care unit, a 34-bed inpatient psychiatric services unit and 32 skilled nursing beds. The Edison Clinic offers outpatient medical care for people with HIV/AIDS in San Mateo County. The Medical Center also oversees the operation of Burlingame Long-Term Care.
Kaiser Permanente also has a medical office building on 1000 Franklin Parkway. In addition to pharmacy, lab, and optometry services, this facility also has OB/GYN, sports medicine, allergy and radiology (mammography) services.
